i have some to use for cyanotypes and other things ( hand coating with SG )
anyone have experience with this?

looking forward to answers !

If you're looking for a substrate to coat wouldn't it be cheaper to buy similar papers from an art supply shop? I know that Aquarelle for one is available as an art paper - as an inkjet paper it is very expensive. OzJohn

i bought if from a friend who was clearing out a warehouse full of this sort of stuff
so it was my ignorance that got the best of me, and my wanting to be nice and
take a little away ... maybe i'll just sell it all and buy normal stuff, IDK

thanks

If it's Canson baryta I saw someone made a pop collodion print that looked really good on the paper
I'll take some!!

Hi Peter
I've given a bunch to a friend who is a ink / pigment printer and he hasn't complained. I've also been thinking of printing cyanotypes on it. I ran into people who coat this paper, and the image seems to float on its surface and have a different quality. I've got a little bit left so im going to start coating it soon
Thanks !
John

Try it. Nothing to lose. You may like the shiny finish though it is not what I would want for my alt process work.

Maybe the back is uncoated and mabye that'll give you what you want. That info is easy to find online.

that's the plan
not sure how shiny it is ... it might be some sort of matte finish i can't remember, its been a while ...

I use Canson Baryta Photographique for my digital black and white prints because the sheen of the finish is as close to that of glossy fiber based paper air dried that I could find. I tried about 30-40 papers before settling on it. I prefer the natural matte finish of Hahnemuhle Platinum Rag for my alt process work.
