There are a few last generation lenses for the RB and RZ that seem to be the same (floating element, APO).
I was wondering if they are indeed the same optically (I know the RB's have a mechanical shutter).

A side question would be if it's possible to fire the shutter inside the RB lenses with some type of sync cable connected to a digiback, without an RB body.

Greetings, Happy Hollidays.

Short answer. Maybe. I doubt it would be worth the energy and cost of making a work around.
The RB lenses use a rotating segment in the lens mount. There are also two pins that need to be depressed to
allow the rotation.
