Incidentally, on the subject of bisulfite in KHCA, a formula that was around for a long time (e.g. on pure-silver where some experienced people exchanged information) in which there was for the stock (to be diluted 1+4)
100g of sodium sulfite,
20g sodium (meta)bisulfite,
5g EDTA4Na
5g and sodium citrate
I notice that the current package in msmchem's post above shows net content 502g for 3.8L of stock. So for 1L the contents are 132g. This is in close agreement with this formula. Of course, there's nothing to say that Kodak's formula is not the same as various people have guessed. It's just an observation.
It looks plausible compared to Kodak's MSDS.
There are some other formulas around in which the quantities are a bit different.
