Developed HP5+ with dark edges

This is my second role of Ilford HP5+ with ID-11. Following was shot with Spotmatic at ISO 200 which seemed to work great, but I have one problem; this showed up on the first half of the film like the edges was exposed to light, have you experienced this? I'm ruling out the camera since it's not consistent over the entire film and then it's either an accident during developing or a bad film?

Looks like light fog while the film was in the cassette....I've had exactly the same thing on the rare times when I have had to load a film in very bright sunlight. I notice from the numbers that it is the very start of the film, and there is also fog through the perforations while the film was rolled.

Welcome to APUG. If the dark edges don't intrude into the image then you have nothing to worry about. I agree with the above post that it looks like the film was light struck while loading or unloading. I have seen this on occasion when I couldn't find shade on a very bright day.

Thanks. This sounds very plausible as it was a very bright day when I loaded the film and going inside didn't occur to me... I am fairly new at this so that must be a so called rookie mistake. Thanks again.

how did you agitate film in developing tank?

by inverting the tank, I use a Jobo 1520 tank.

could be light leak in film cassette. Could be light leak in camera. Could be some kind of developing reel contamination. I'd suggest to give developing reel a thorough cleaning. Load and unload film in low light levels. If it happnes again then it's probably in camera light leak.
