Hi everyone - I'm a fellow apuger from Tasmania, Australia and will be visiting UK in September. I'll be in the midlands area, around Birmingham , Leicester to Derbyshire and in the Skegness area also from 18th September to 26th Sept. and wondered if anyone knows of any exhibitions, galleries etc. specialising in photography in these areas during this time frame. I'm leaving home on Monday 3rd. so have left this a bit late I guess. From subscribing to Black and White Photo. magazine I know there are some wonderful landscape photographers dotted here and there around the country who seems to have galleries or permanent exhibitions etc. but not sure where they are. Totally uninterested in digital work and only mildly interested in colour but utterly besotted with silver gelatin and the fine print, especially landscape images, if thats any help. I probably sound a bit anoraky about this but I'm too mature (old) to care!

Hi Patricia,

Check out the posts on this link:

You may find something of interest here, or perhaps some folks to ask about "any exhibitions, galleries etc. specialising in photography in these areas during this time frame." There's a lively UK group on apug who will be happy to be of assistance to you I'm sure.

The East Midlands Monochrome Group meets near Leicester. Details of the next meet can be found at: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Patricia, enjoy the trip, the weather here is fine and a little warmer than Tasmania; good touring weather in fact. We have arranged to turn off the rain for a month, just for you.

It's september, summer's on the way:wink::wink:!
