Here's something I hope beyond hope is not a minor disaster? I found myself in a situation on a dark street in NYC very early yesterday morning with low mist/fog, trying to document the life of an older homeless women I've been following and working with for a while now, and only had Delta 100 with me. I had to push the film, 200 was just not going to work with the lighting and what was going on at the moment, so I had to push to 400... thinking I could ... Problem is, now looking through everything I have I can find nothing in terms of chemical and timings, etc...that tells I could do this...HELP!!!! What do I do? Can I process this at 400? Man, I hope this is not a lost roll of film.....

It gives 400 times for a couple of developers at various concentrations.

Dont' stress too much - worst case, at 200 it would only be a stop under, which would still be printable.

Personally I'd probably look at the digitaltruth table, look at the times I had for my regualr developer, then end up using my regular dev at the 200 speed plus another minute or two.

OK it's not very scientific, but 200 + a bit extra is probably going to land you within half a stop either way. Thats probably more accurate than I can meter reliably (or more accurate than the shutter speeds on half my cameras!).

Sure someone else can give more specific advice.

Ah, this is great, many thanks, fantastic site, Xtol is listed with times for pushing Delta 100 to 400, so maybe I'll try that this weekend. I had wanted to do this today but I'll 'til tomorrow when I can get in to B&H to pick som eup.

Thanks again...suddenly feeling less stressed about this.....but, man, I guess I otta keep beter stocks of various films on hand, eh?

ok, so far so good...I went with Microphen stock solution but added 1 minute to the 10 minutes recommended in the Massive Development Chart for pushing the film to 400. They're hanging drying now and acually look to be pretty good, at least while wet, contrast, detail, shadows, all look better much much than I expected so this may have just worked....

The reason I was so stressed that this situation could never ever be recreated in a lifetime. This woman was hiding out in a doorway against a long black marble wall with low hanging mist around tall buildings at about 6 am last Friday morning, just poking her head out and looking at me...
