Would anyone like to congregate somewhere on the Delmarva Peninsula (Delaware, Eastern Maryland, Eastern Virginia) for a weekend or a weekend day? Let's see what interest we might just drum up here, shall we?

Flash,

I might be out that way in the next month or two...schedule is not set yet.

1. What are the weather conditions in Feb, March, and April?

2. Distance from D.C. (say from 1200 Pennsylvania Ave.)?

3. Any permits etc. required for large format?

Thanks
Dave in Vegas

Good morning Dave and Flash,

I am from Salisbury Maryland on the Eastern shore.

The weather in February is as it is now, winter. By April it will be Spring with a mixture of temperature and light. We the locals, always say "If you don't like the weather, just wait, it will change."

Driving time and distance from 1200 Penn. DC to Salisbury, MD. 2 hours 33 min. Distance 121 miles.

No permit required for "Large format" to MY knowledge. I've never had a problem here on the shore.

All the best,
Sam

My intent is to see what interest we can drum up in a few weeks and maybe form a core group here on the shore which could include occasional visitors. So keep an eye out for this post and we will see what might come up. Thank you.

Alas, my wife would not tolerate my dalliance on the Eastern Shore...its only halfway to our usual destination of the Outer Banks. All the more disconcerting when you think of all of the possibilities on either side; bay or beach! The islands, the horses, the birds, the boats, the docks, the landscape!

Maybe, one day when the the kids stop asking, "Are we there, yet?" Aargh!...

I hope you can put something together and share with the rest of us...

Regards,

Joe

Depending on the weekend, I may be interested in a weekend trip.

Can you give an idea of what you have in mind for the day/ weekend? Will
weather be a factor? I am interested. My leash gets a little tight south of
Ocean City. Jim

Well, thinking a few things actually. Chincoteague, Cape Henlopen, Killens Pond, Lums Pond, Trap Pond, Bombay Hook NWR. Maybe about the 25th or March 4th.

Hrmm. Lums pond is close to me; but Im not sure if it would be suitable this time of the year. Cape Henlopen would be good when the horseshoe crabs come for their yearly visit.
