With my Durst 184 10x10 enlarger, I have two mystery pieces. Their marked names are no help to me, Durst-speak being rather obscure.

One is marked "Wahal" and is glass with a faint bluish-green tinge. I suspect it is heat absorbing glass meant to slide into the filter holder on the side of the Durst head. But I don't know for sure. Can someone confirm or deny this proposition?

The other is marked "Lazuco" and is clearly a condenser lens of some sort, about 6 inches diameter and mounted in a frame similar to the Wahal, suggesting that it, too, may be intended to be installed in the filter drawer.

Would someone here, knowledgeable in Durst-speak please enlighten me as to the purpose of these two bits? I saw that a Lazuco sold in 2015 for $649. So there must be something to this piece.

Thank you in advance!

Wahal is listed as a heat filter for the condenser head.

In general, as weird as they may sound, Durst-speak and such are benefitial as those words are more easy to memorize than a figure code.
On the other hand their number is limited otherwise one mixes up terms, and also the name not necessarily explains the item.

Thus it would be handy if in such cases there would be a listing explaing repeating parts of such words. A kind of algorithm, in case there is a logic behind such names.

The Wahal is either three pieces of glass else the glass cracked and broke in two places at exact thirds and in very straight lines. That leads me to suspect that the Wahal is made using three pieces of glass to allow for expansion which, given that it is heat absorbing glass, makes perfect sense. And since it's not in the image path, it wouldn't matter anyway.
But just conjecture at this time...
The "breaks" in the glass are very straight. However one piece has a lot of tiny chips along the edge. Is that common? Is it a deal killer?
I'll try to post photos tomorrow. Today is booked tight.
Thanks~

The heat glass for the Laborator 1000 is called Taucolo and consists of a glass in a black metal frame that slides into the window between the lamp head and the mirror house. On the black frame in white letters: Taucolo, Durst. Made in Italy.

It seems strange to me if for the 184 enlarger Durst supplied a glass only. Let me know if you want to see pictures.

So, this glass is fixed in place from the lamp house. Right on the other side sits the vertical filter holder. With the 200, 300, 500 watt large bulbs only a short distance away this glass is important and should have been sold with the enlarger.
