Dear Dorff...It's Alive!!!

Well after about 3 months of work and waiting for parts, my new old V8 is alive again. This little beauty started out in 1975 and was put into professional service. When I got a hold of it, it had definitely worked a hard life. A little TLC and some new parts and it is ready for another 30++ years. I totally stripped it down and refinished in a lacquer. Ken Hough provided some of the parts and screws I needed and some details on date of manufacture. It was delivered to Trek Photo in Chicago, but ended up in Toronto. The new bellows is from Mark Kapono in Hawaii. Mark did a fabulous job. I sent him the old bellows and frames and he duplicated the factory box and taper style. The bellows fit perfectly and have minimal sag at the full 31 inch extension. I highly recommend his services. His price was very good and his communication and work is excellent.
This is the second dorff I have rebuilt. The first was a 1938 V5. A few minor things to finish up and I can burn some film.

Mark Kapono did my bellows too, and I've been recommending him whenever I can. My experience with him was the same as yours. I hope he put your beautiful camera up on his website.
