Darlot Petzval lens 180mm f/3.0 Quickactor
Made in ~1890 and Darlot mentioned it up to 5x7“ and I used it in this size.
It is a typical Petzval lens with the moderate and excellent sharpness at full open aperture and it is getting very sharp when stopped down.
The lens comes with a complete set of Waterhouse stops in the range between f/4 – f/22
The blades are made of ABS. This material is free of reflections, is water resist, can be bended but it is nearly impossible to break it. It is the perfect stuff for this job.
The cut outs are machined on a leath and perfect round.
A real leather case comes with it.
The glass of the lens shows a very small area of separation and two chips at the rear element, please believe me, it has nor negative effects, the lens works absolutly perfect.
Otherwise the glas is clean and clear.
In 4x5“ it is an excellent portrait lens and in 5x7“ is is a moderate wideangle and great for landscape and others.
It comes incl. a mounting flange an a front lens cap.
You get a complete usable lens set. Full usable in any kind.
