Friday 26 May 2006: ??
Saturday 27 May 2006:

Sunday 28 May 2006:

Thanks in advance for the additional illucidation in response to yet another irritating question from yours truly. :|

Thanks for clearing this up (for me, at least... hopefully, I'm not the sole confused one or maybe hopefully I am), Lee. I must be having a dyslexic moment. I could swear that first post says 27/28/29 May.

Sorry, Lee. My goof. I need to remember that the ability to edit a post goes away after 24 hours or so, so it's really important to go through an entire thread on stuff like this.

At any rate, there was probably some merit in verifying the actual dates.

Thanks,

-KwM-

Postscript: Y'know, I wonder if it would be worthwhile for the workshops forum to have the same functionality as the member-organized functions, where each workshop gets a sub-forum with the designated contact being a moderator of that sub-forum, so they would retain the ability to edit the first message / overview ad infinitum.

I wanted to express my sincere gratitude to both Les and Lee. Les did a tremendous job and what I took away from this experience I know will dramatically improve my printing and darkroom skills. Lee was a gracious host and went out of his way to accommodate everyone's wants and needs. Thanks also to all of the participants. It was a wonderful group of APUGers and I enjoyed meeting everyone.

Thanks guys!!!!

Great Time in Ft Worth

WOW!! What a great time and what a fantastic group.

Thanks to Les and to Lee. It will be hard to ever burn in another sky without thinking about this past week end. My printing will never be the same again.

To all who may ever have a chance to be around a Les Mclean function of any type, you owe to yourself to drop what ever you are doing and just go.

Just a quick note to say it was nice to meet everyone, and to say Thanks for allowing me to barge in on the party....looked like everyone was a bit in shock by the end of day Sunday.

So much information.......So little time......then the reality of life after Les.

Happy Printing

LOL, afraid not Bruce...but it looked like Lee had it covered, and as Clay mentioned they had the Kona coffee.

We had fantastic Kona coffee from Hawaii that was grown by Steve and made in a special workshop roast. I'm not kidding.

Well, that explains why they were at it until 1:00 in the morning! :surprised:

This was an absolutely enlightening weekend. You could not ask for a better instructor than Les, and Lee was the most gracious host.

I now have the tools to create the B&W prints that express my vision, and I am currently working on building the darkroom.

On a per hour basis this must have been the most cost effective workshop in the history of man kind. I count at least 45 hours of instruction over the three days.

I am truly glad to have met and spent time with each of the other participants. This was a talented group humble people.

I'd say we covered THE WHOLE NINE YARDS, and then some!!!

I feel truly honored and blessed to have experienced this wonderful workshop with all of you, and thank you to everyone for your kindness, and for your willingness to share your knowledge and your photos and your selves, I learned so much from each and every one of you, and special thanks to Les and Lee for bringing us together this time, and I hope that it won't be the last time!

Cheers, Krystyna :D

I too had a great time, saw many exciting images and had many laughs during three very short days, in fact we all went TWNY!!!!!!!
Off to Denver in the morning and then back to England on Monday. Hope to meet up with you all at some time in the future, meanwhile keep making the shadows luminous and the highlights glow.

I had a WONDERFUL time. It's hard to beat fellowship and darkroom frolic with a bunch of fellow shooters. Since photography is my religion, this workshop was like a church retreat.

I enjoyed and benefited from meeting each of you.
Now, you'll be in the darkroom with me everytime I make a print.

I just posted my shots from the workshop to the "Home » Member Organized Functions » Workshops & Get Togethers" gallery. I'll update the captions soon. Also, since I was learning how to scan Pyrocat negs on the fly, some of the scans are iffy, so I'll try and get around to re-scanning some of the poorer ones and updating the images.

Thanks Les! I got exactly what I wanted out of the workshop. Now, I hope I finish the construction on my darkroom before my newly acquired skills seep out of my consciousness.

I'm back in the UK where it is warm for this country but relatively cool compared to Texas and Denver which was my final stop. I really did enjoy my second darkroom workshop in Lee's darkroom and Kevin is so right about the photography fellowship that happens on these events. I always enjoy meeting people but to meet fellow APUG members is indeed an added bonus. Keep making prints sing folks.

For me meeting all of these wonderful people was the best part of the experience. I learned so many things, some large and many small things that make a big difference. I know that as time goes on my printing will improve so thanks to everyone. Les is a wealth of knowledge and experience and a wonderful teacher.

I would strongly recommend this workshop to anyone wishing to take their printing to a higher level.

Regards,
Bill
