Yahoo! I just made my reservation! (the guy at the hotel was pretty dimwitted--lets hope he didn't mess things up too badly!)

See y'all in a few weeks!

Hi There

I just had the opportunity to spend 5 days with Les and all I can say is WOW he is a gentleman, scholar , all round great guy. Our feedback on the instructors leads me to think that anyone taking his course at Lee's facility is in for a treat.
I thought I was a good printer, well I have to say his prints genuanaly sing and his techniques are world class. I will definately take his workshop when I can not be an organizer as he is such a personality and full of tricks not to be missed.
Did I say he was the salt of the earth, believe me when you get to meet him you will know why.

Good Luck: Lee and Les ,and have a great time

The workshop feedback on Les is stellar. My personal opinion of him is higher. His B/W prints are as good as it gets.

I got a PM that says that not only is Les the best darkroom instructor around, but that he also tells some of the raunchiest jokes. Since I will be in Fort Worth to check this report out for myself, I will be sure and let everyone know.

Hi Lee and All!
I too am wondering when/where the meet & greet will be...

I'll be arriving in Dallas Wednesday morning, and doing some sight-seeing until we meet on Thursday, and trying to pack in as much as possible before our workshop, so please let me know when I need to be around...

Looking forward to next week!
Cheers, Krystyna :D

the meet and greet will be at the darkroom on Thursday evening starting about 6 or 6:30pm. I will have some snacks but if you have special food requirements you will need to take care of that on your own.

the darkroom address is 110 West Trammel St Everman Texas 76140 look it up on one of the free mapping programs

Hi Lee,
I'm flying in at 7:00 that evening. How late will everybody be at the meet and greet? Do you have any suggestions regarding getting to the hotel or your darkroom from the airport? Or should I rent a car?
Thanks, and I'm really looking forward to this,
Todd

Hey Lee,

Just confirming as I put this into my calendar -- It's a "Meet & Greet" at your darkroom and not a "Meet and Greet Dinner" at a restaurant, right?

Not a value judgement of either -- just wanting to clarify, since I've seen it referred to as a 'dinner' a couple of times previous in the thread.

Todd,

Rent a car look back a few posts and you will see a hotel I recommended Comfort Inn in Forest Hill.

I am a distance from DFW maybe 20 miles to the south.

I've got a room at that hotel. Thanks. I'll get there one way or another! If there's still going to be people at your place, I'd love to meet everybody before we go into the trenches on Friday.

sounds good. by the way, I've never attended a workshop before, do I need to bring negatives to print, paper, prints that I've made BL(before Les)? Or is this going to be mostly demonstrations?
Thanks

yeah... me too/neither. I presume it would be good but not required to bring some negs to print, but what else shall we bring? Nitrile gloves if we're partial to them? I've gotten used to working with a metronome, but I gather we'll be working with the RH Designs Stop Clock Pro during the workshop. Should we bring paper?

Finally, from the dumb stupid should be obvious question department, it's "Darkroom Practices" but pretty much exclusively printing, no film developing topics covered, right?

Wow! I am so glad that someone asked this question, because I was bringing none of the above, I was assuming that we'd be darkroom rats for three days, I'm glad we'll be able to shoot and develop some film, see y'all soon!

Cheers, K
