Can you recommend me a Red Led Safelight, E27, 230 V? I would like to replace my red incandescent lamps in order to increase the illumination level in my darkroom.
Thanks,
Henry.

I use these my darkroom...one red and one amber. They both seem safe for all materials, but I try to stick to the red one where recommended. I have 115VAC, but they also list them as available in Europe so they are either the same bulb or they have an equivalent 230VAC version.

Thanks, Mark. You have been very kind. I try to find an European distribuitor.

Not E27, but if you can change to a GU10 fitting there's these

Not used them as my darkroom is still at the planning stage, but all red LEDs should be safe.

i use a standard halogeen spot with a piece of lee filter nr 27. works like a charm. I put a dimmer on the halogeen spot so i can controle the light output.

I use the Maplin Orange LEDs but they are very directional so I use them in safelights which already have orange filters, for a bit of diffusion. For B&W Ilford papers they are safe as houses for at least 7 minutes on pre-flashed Ilford paper, and as bright as you can want.

I should add that the Maplin LEDs have GU10 fittings. I found GU10 to bayonet adapters at an eBay shop in HongKongand bought a couple, good price and prompt service.

Try searching Superbright LEDs. figure out what wavelength of light your paper is insensitive to, and then make sure to do a safelight paper test when you get the bulb installed!!
