Picked up a bit of darkroom gear this afternoon from a Craigslist ad.
Beseler Dichro45, I saw it turned on and apparently working, also came with the standard head and a condenser chamber of some sort, haven't sorted all of it yet. 3 lenses; 50mm that I forgot to look to see what brand, a Vivitar 100mm and a EL Nikor 150, all mounted in lens board, 2 4X5 negative carriers one with glass one with out, 6X7 carrier and 35mm carrier that I've found so far.
Multiple sets of trays from 5X7 to 16X20, some kind of color film processor motorized drum thing ( not Jobo) a couple of Jobo tanks, grain focusers 3 different darkroom/enlarger timers 3 safelights, several different easels from a basic combo 5 way up to a 16X20 and a couple of different proof printers, several different odds and ends branded "ZONE VI" also a big honking Zone VI print washer large enough for 16X20.
A couple of 35mm bulk film loaders and a couple of bags of empty refillable (?) cartridges.
Several boxes of assorted darkroom odds and ends.
Included was boxes and boxes and boxes of photo paper from 5X6 to 16X20 mostly B&W but some color, RC and fiber, most of it in factory sealed boxes. Age and life in storage is unknown but I suspect it is 10-12 years old and while most is sealed in plastic of some sort it has been stored in a garage I didn't really figure it into the value of the gear. There is also a box of boxes of 5X7 film, 16 boxes, some 50 count some 100, 6 of which are Fuji color of some sort, most of them still factory sealed but again stored in a garage for 10-12? years so not considered in the value
I gave $500 for the lot, how bad did I get took?

Only thing a little scary out of the pile was the box of photographic chemicals. Again, age unknown quite a bit of Kodak and Edwal bulk components

Excellent purchase! To some, you paid too much but to others you paid too little  For me, it is a nice amount of useable goods for the money, so I would just enjoy it. Congrats on your find.

some kind of color film processor motorized drum thing ( not Jobo)

Would be great to learn more about that thing.
Here in Europe there was Durst next to Jobo for such and, hardly known, Paterson. In the USA there is Phototherm.
That is all that comes to my mind

The chemicals could be an adventure. If it is in old tins, they should be fine. If they are in foil packs, they should also be okay. Other stuff, play and see what happens  Cheers!

Actually sounds pretty good. I'm assuming the processor is a roller base, four wheels on top &
you time it yourself. Some are single direction and some reverse, either way both kinds are useful.

Some in tins, some in glass bottles at least one can of Kodak "stuff" in a tin with an old fashioned key opener.

Some common photo stuff, potassium fericyanide, bicarbonate of this, Sodium that, eludium pu36,...
Lots of pretty skull and cross bone stickers on most of it.

There was a time not to long ago you would have had too she'll out 500 bucks for a 150 El Nikkor with a board. I have accumulated 5 Beseler 4x5 enlargers, can you really get too much of a good thing? ?
Best Mike

I'm going to be "full up" with one.
Still not sure just what all I have.
Just got to thinking, there are some things oddly missing from such a stash. No 35mm film reels for developing, only two 120 SS reels or maybe 1 220 and 1 120.
There is also a couple of 4x5 film holders and some sort of LF roll film adapter that I haven't ID'd yet.
When I get it all spread out I'll take some pictures and we can play a couple of rounds of "What the heck is this?".

sounds like you got a great deal, and you might need a bigger camera
Like right!, I've got the 4X5 negative carriers, the lens to enlarge it, I think I got the stuff to develop it and there are a couple of 4X5 film holders.
hate to waste such things.

ET1(SS) a long time ago.
Well some would think it was a long time ago but the older I get the shorter 24 years ago becomes.

Hey kid,

24 isn't much at all, almost a short-timer! I left in 1970 after 7 Polaris patrols on USS Von Steuben SSBN 632, USS Simon Bolivar SSBN 641, and USS Woodrow Wilson SSBN624 and a year on the school boat USS Becuna, SS319. They chopped up all the boomers and the Becuna is welded to a pier at the Independence Seaport Museum in Philly.

Boy, this brings back memories (and sea stories that all start with "This ain't no sh*t...). Went to the sub museum in New London a few years ago and the volunteer at the front desk was wearing a Becuna hat. After some discussion we realized we were both aboard her the day Kennedy was shot. I was chipping paint topsides and he was in the forward torpedo room working on a fish. "If it moves, shoot it. If it doesn't, paint it!"

Ray.

I hope this doesn't hijack your thread. Moderators, move this if needed.

Guess this is now an "Old Navy" E-6 thread. It will soon be 49 years since the HM 1 mustered out of the brown water navy. Bill Barber

If you plan to make prints , I think you did really well, enough equipment to get you started on a lifetime of printing fun.

Yes, likely.

But that was unknown here. That is why I was a bit puzzled.

I just realized that there was a similar base from Ilford, I did not know either.
Maybe I just forgot...

Unicolor motor base?

That's what it is. It works. Rolls one way a little bit then reverses for a little bit. Came with tubes from big enough for 8X10 to 16X20.

Not planning on selling off too much of it yet, still haven't decided what I want to keep and use and what I want to use for trade fodder.
