And for those scuba divers who don't like to wear a wet/dry suit, 27C is about 80F... perfect water temp for an hour or so under the surface.

Just remember 20 C == about 68 F. You need not know anything more than that in the photographic world.

Colour my wourld....

Actually, 20 C is exactly equal to 68 F - handy for those who like precision!

And for what it's worth, -40 C is also exactly equal to -40 F:confused:

It seems to me that Canadians always seem to know that!

But at least it's a dry cold -- that's what I used to tell myself when I had to walk to school in -40 C/F weather -- only to be sent home an hour later.

Still awaiting proof that 8.1 is moving again, something in the order of "camera recieved" would be nice.

Glad to see 8.1 is alive and well - hope Matt's okay. And I'm waiting in the wings for 8.2. How's things in TN Chris?

Rain in the forecast for days, up til Wednesday/Thursday. It will be next weekend before I get any sunshine to take the camera out. I was hoping to take out the 5x7 tomorrow, but not if it's crappy. I might just spend my day off at home in front of the XBox. Love that new Gears of War 3!

23 C? 30C here

23 C here in south-west BC right now, at 7:05 pm.

(That's 73.4 Fahrenheit for those of you who still use that measure).

Here is the local forecast for the week - I think shorts are still in order .

Glad to hear that Matthew R. was able to come through (hope he is ok).

23C on the lower mainland? First day of autumn here in Calgary it was 30C! (85F) Now we get summer weather. I don't know where they get the idea that it freezes north of 49th parallel. Sheesh

Looking forward to the camera making its way westward. I was on the road for a bit and thought I missed it.

Camera arrived safely. PM sent to Semeuse for shipping info.
I'll try to get photos over the weekend and ship out early next week.

Chris

I didn't want to mention the new pic because I thought it might be your daughter.

Although I am fully aware that that is a complete and utter load of drivel... I'll pretend I don't... thank you Tim!

No apology needed! As long as Matthew is fine, and the camera is on its way, all is right with the world!

Apology? We should be thanking Matthew. If it wasn't for him, what would we talk/write about? I'm an around-the-world-camera virgin, but it seems to me that 50% of the fun is figuring out where the camera(s) is(are). The other 90% is seeing the final pictures. Where's the fun in getting the camera home in the shortest amount of time? Come to think of it, I don't recall reading about that ever happening, so maybe it is fun.

I have neither the time nor the money to travel the world. I do find it enjoyable to be part of a camera that gets to go places that I don't, to show me the photos of places that I'm not visiting.
This one will be somewhat strange. I just got a reply from Semeuse. Where Semeuse lives is about 5 miles from where I used to live before moving to TN 6 years ago. I might get to see pics of places I've already seen!

Like Matthew using an address two blocks from where I lived in 1982.

My visions of grandeur in composing and exposing two shots fell apart this weekend when I had to stay close to home and play Mr. Mom while my fiancee was working. Due to the distance/location of the planned photos, it may be another week before I can get over there. I won't keep the camera any longer than next Monday, so if I see it isn't going to happen, I'll just put together another game plan for two different photos.

Normally, I dislike these surprise road trips for work. I have to drive a few hours east tomorrow. The great part is that my originally planned shoot is only about 15 miles out of the way... and sunny weather is in the forecast for the next two days.
I feel a detour coming on!
