We hope.........!

Semeuse's address has already been confirmed, but I sent a PM yesterday to confirm availability to receive the camera before I send. This is to confirm there's no problem in receiving the camera due to traveling for work, being a recent victim of spontaneous combustion, or being currently incarcerated in a Mexican jail.

I vote for the Mexican Jail...

I was traveling on business and was caught illegally combusting on a Mexican bus, so I was briefly incarcerated. A flock of chickens broke me out and so I am ready to receive el camera.

8.1 Update
thebanana - thanks for the goodies!
Segedi Alberta Canada - Arrived today! I'm off to Toronto at the end of the week and hope to take at least one good shot.
MartinB Alberta Canada - I'll be delivering to MartinB next week in person (Martin - are you available tuesday or wednesday?)

Segedi,

I sent PM to you earlier, and yes I can meet up with you today or tomorrow - Thurs I have to be out of town (dentist).

Matt - I hope if S and I get the handoff set for this week to be sending it your way soon. Would love to meet up with you too, but the drive is a bit long! Send me a PM so we can arrange the details.

All this talk about combustion, incarceration and chickens has me wondering about the photos coming out of that other camera!

Martin

Martin, sent you a reply, not sure if you got it. My internet has been rather flaky. PM me if you got it or not.
After getting the camera, I promptly fell ill. Not blaming thebanana... yet... Hope to have a click on the camera this weekend - and shortly thereafter into Martin's hands.

"After getting the camera, I promptly fell ill. Not blaming thebanana... yet..." If not thebanana (or me; we doubled up), then perhaps Canada Post is to blame! If we can target CP for cameras MIA, surely we can target it for getting sick, too. Mail may not be the only thing they carry:laugh:

I'll bring nitrile gloves for Fred, Lisa, and I to wear when we use the L35AF... That way, we can avoid getting sick.

Oh, I have my own, thanks. But I'm thinking a face mask might be in order, seeing as how I have to shove the thing right up to my face to see through the little window. Or does this camera have Live View?

Are you saying that I'm a carrier?:munch:

Naw. Collateral damage as a result of some good natured ribbing as part of the travelling camera project:blink:

Naw... he's a carrier!

Reminds me of a postal worker joke I read recently; I'm sure it was in the joke thread (thread now deleted, I think). Can't remember the details but the gist of it was that an elderly man wrote a letter to God asking for $100 for Xmas. When the postal workers heard about his misfortune, they took up a collection. They collected $90 and sent the elderly man the money. A few weeks later, that same postal worker saw another letter written to God. The worker opened it and it read, "Thank you God for the money, but I only received $90 of the $100 I asked for. Those damned postal workers must have stolen the other $10."

Just like Rodney Dangerfield: "I don't get no respect."

Wow. It took me two days to get it, Tim! Very cool.

Hope everyone is doing well. I've been trying to peek into the forum every once in a while just to see how things are progressing. Very nicely, it seems! Before I disappear again for a while, some advice to all of my dear friends here:

Don't go to law school if you are not prepared to F*CKING DIE.

I miss taking pictures.

I remember the same feelings halfway through engineering school. Keep at it, the rewards are worth every stinking moment.

So, I've taken a little mental and physical break from photography this year. You might even say I totally forgot about everything related to it. Then, just yesterday, the camera gods intervened and I stumbled across this curious "apug" tab in by browser. Ah, fond memories.

Today: OMG...camera 8!

Now, having feverishly skimmed through 30+ pages of this thread and reached the end, I am joyous to find I am still in time! Never thought I would be so happy to be at the end of the list.

Praise to all who have kept the camera moving along, whether via means culinary or familial. Praise to the slow postal system. Praise to a big list of participants.

Camera 8.1...I'm ready!!!!

Lisa

ps -I am still in time, right? And NO, we are not meeting at my house.

What???? We are at the end? Already?

Wow, Lisa - I was just about to sink my head in the sand and put aside all this camera talk for another few weeks! Of course you are still on time. Somehow, it seems we are ahead of time. This is great - I'll start gearing up to move ahead with processing and scanning.

Let me know when you ship the camera out so we can all hold our collective breaths and pray it makes that final journey home to NYC!

How much longer for 8.2, I wonder?
