Camera 8.1 made it to Baltimore. As there have been slackers yet, I will try to get my two exposures in today and send it off to Axle. Everyone keep your fingers crossed as it heads over the border.

This is NOT a race. Shooting the camera should reflect your inner vision and the mood to create. If it don't happen today, it'll happen soon. The mood is speed here and that isn't what WASOC is about.

I completely agree with Tim. We are aiming for a bunch of keepers, if not great and inspired photography! That's what will make all the waiting worthwhile.

I definitely blew this round.
By the time I parked the the car, and walked to my location.
It started raining like a !@#$%^&*()_+ !!!
And I didn't want the camera to get soaked.
I bought a raincoat to keep in the car at all times.

We all live and learn. I want everyone to look at Camera 6 photos. There was some damned fine work on that camera. Especially the ships at dock.

We have taken grief that all we are is a bunch of snap shot takers. I resent that; in our own ways, we are each and everyone an artist and a photographer.

Think out your shots, execute using the equipment such that it is, shoot, and pass it on. That (and pagan chickens) are the joys of wesoc.

Agreed.
We pay postage and follow a journey of these things around the globe. I'd like to see something interesting for it. I really liked the themed project. Not only does it tap into the brain to make you compose something, but the element of surprise can be fun when there are different interpretations of the theme.

There is certainly an element of surprise. When I saw the pictures from camera six, I couldn't see mine for a while as the shot I actually took was totally different from the one I thought I had taken.

That's the great thing about senility... every day is a new day! Well, that and the fact that no one minds if you drool a little.

Point taken. I've had my shots planned out for weeks now. I'm giving myself a few days till the light is right.

Would you happen to have the recipe for pagan chicken?

No, but my landlord and neighbor has ghetto chickens in our backyard. He is certainly a pagan, so they are pagan chickens by definition. Getting a good shot of a chicken is tough, they are so fast and twitchy. I'm tempted, but I don't think I will waste one of my precious frames on the attempt.

Not with a scoped .22 rifle.

These are city chickens. They have eyes in the back of their heads and the weapon of choice is the Glock 17. They will dump a clip in your direction before you have a chance to reload.

This has been above my back door for several years.

I would recommend all read the Camera 6 thread but then I think we are getting too close to a cult.

Found a BBQ seasoning made locally here called Dallas Seasoning. Hot, smoky, intense. Perfect for that pagan chicken in your life (temp).

OR...

Take a cup of tequila, a cup of brown sugar, two tablespoons of dried ground chipotle powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, teaspoon of ground oregano, and four large cloves of garlic pressed. Put the chicken in a large ziplock with all this poured over it and throw it in your refrigerator for at least 4 hours.

Grill using Indirect heat over mesquite charcoal (with maybe a cup of soaked hickory chips occasionally thrown on for flavor).

What?!?!

For us to be a cult, we would have to be 1) a body of adherents with 2) a system of rituals, and with 3) great devotion to an idea or movement.

Surely, film photographers are NONE of these.

I liked Ozzy osbourne's creative approach to meat:D...

OK - no more chicken talk 'til Camera 8.2 lands in San Jose with Tim. It's been 11 days since it was last seen. Anything yet, Tim?

Are you referring to his meeting with record label executives, when he jammed a dove in his mouth and bit the head off?
I'm afraid a chicken would not be so cooperative, especially if they knew his history.

Camera 7 flashback....

Went home at lunch today....

behold! A package from Australia. Complete with kangaroo tracks all over it.

So now... I was waxing on poetically about the Pulitzer prize winning shot I took of Aachen Cathedral that was lost in the mists of Isle of Wight... And amazingly someone is happening to be going to Aachen on Saturday.

Camera 8 is taking a vacation. It will return and be sent on about Saturday July 30th. Imagine 6 continents (Republic of Ireland, Asia, Australia, California, Europe, and America II) in less than two months.

That Sureshot knows how to fly.

Wow, little did I know that Ireland, California, and America II were continents! You sure learn something everyday here!
