has anyone else found and used this developer ?
i was at a junk store yesterday and found a old yellowish and orange
can of this stuff ... it was a straw colored liquid and worked like a charm ...

i pulled 4 prints out of the tray and each one was worse then the next ..
good-stuff!

I invented it.

Lots of people think they invented it (I do, too--but I'm wrong).
It's closely related to the British developer Dashitol, which is better to use if there are kids around.

I greatly prefer to use Dammitol as Damnitol replenished. That way I can carry the baggage of past problems forward to the present and future.

I hear it has great latitude: regardless of temperature or dilution, it will always ruin your prints

The best product was Ansco's Damnitol, but that has been discontinued and is long longer available.

They made lots of stuff, didn't they? I keep hearing their name whenever aging photographers get together.

The good news is that it keeps forever; in fact the best results come from bottles from the early 1900's, left open on a dashboard of a car in Florida

I prefer Fukoford's Buggritol myself, it's very flexible and works at any time or temperature combination. I find it works best with the fixer Flippinek when you need a clear strip of cellulose acetate. Available at all bad photography shops now!

I hear you can get it as part of a combo deal with a clear acrylic paper safe

Its offered as part of a complete kit, when you buy that invisible camera that was showing here back around the first of April.

I've found you can erase a whole day's work if you just add a little Oopsidasium to the solution, and pay no attention to time and temperature, that stuff is for conformists...

Certain I have a prescription for Damnitol. Easy to abuse, too.

I like that fact that dammitol is so forgiving in use... you can always expect the same consistent results time after time no matter the timing, temp, or storage period.

You should also try its sister product, fuddgetol, works just the same, but its rapid factor give you results 2 times faster!

While Damnitol is good for film, it does not work well for birth control. Noassatol does that much better. Even people who favor teaching abstinence agree that Noassatol provides comparable results.

There is a second developer that works when damitol wont. It's called helwitall. Do if you can't damitol, you helwitall of your films. It is a stand folmula, so all ya gotta do then is have a cocktail or three while use it.

the helwitall sounds like something i could fine useful
but i would have to be drinking harvey wallbangers to get
the full experience ...

I really miss Doesitol. Push that old roll of FP3 to IE 6400? Stick it in Doesitol, doesn't matter what time, agitation or temperature and you will get perfect grain free results each time.

Discontinuing Doesitol was the worse decision Kodak ever made. I hate Kodak for it.

We may have a winner!

I've heard that a pinch of benzotriazole in fokitol will give really crappy highlights, and if you're lucky, almost no shadow detail.
