    Takashi Arai is a Japanese emerging photographer who primarily works with daguerreotypes. In this lecture, he will discuss how he came to work with this historical process and the contemporary relationship of this rare medium.

    Daguerreotypes, known for their distinctive mirror-like quality, are one of the first photographic processes made on silver plated copper. Takashi Arai will be leading a public demonstration for making daguerreotypes. This is a unique opportunity to experience a historical and beautiful process first hand.
