its time to replace my dads old screen. it is 30+ years old and its just time for a new one. now, Size does matter (dont let a lady tell you otherwise. I've heard them after many drinks at book club talking the truth) so I'm looking at an 84x84 or 96x96 as I project med format slides as well as 35mm. i have no idea what screen type the old one is as the box is long gone and as far as i can remember there was no model info on the screen (im not at home as I type this). but there are many screen types available for Da-lite screens and there is a major cost difference.
They screen will be set up in a largish room with many windows, so all projections would be done at night, with only ambient outside light to leak in, so pretty much dark. the MF projector is a hasselblad pcp-80 so plenty of light power being projected.
so for screens, I always figured a plain matte screen is best but with so many choices, I would rather do it right the first time then have buyers remorse over what I should have gotten. as such cost is not a major issue, albeit it does factor in. I did read a post here about the high power screens but have found little info on the new about them. so I figured I would ask those of you who still do project what is the best screen?
if you need more info please ask.
