toss it and buy or mix fresh.Hey guys.
Just mixed up my first batch of D76 and the powder was the color of hot cocoa. Attaching a video (with a messed up iPhone camera so it's a little blurry but you'll get the picture).
Has this gone bad? Should I toss it?
Can you post the batch number written on the envelope, please?Hey guys.

Batch 2020/01/23 8438-- That's one of the bad ones. Same one I had in fact. Email ProPaperChem@KodakAlaris.com and they should be willing to replace it for free.

I think the only safe way to have a working bag of d76 is to have it replaced directly by Kodak Alaris.
I think this will motivate me to make my own now though…
If you mix your own, I encourage you to select a variant of D-76 with improved buffering to avoid the infamous activity-boost of the original D-76. I would try "D76**" (from Kodak Australia), which is the second row of the table on Ian Grant's page here: http://www.lostlabours.co.uk/photography/formulae/developers/devD76_variants.htm
