I found this variant of D-76 in the "Elementary Photographic Chemistry" book published by Eastman Kodak in 1936.

Water 600 cc
Metol 2 grams
Sodium Sulfite 100 grams
Hydroquinone 5 grams
Borax 2 grams
Potassium Iodide (1% solution) 1 cc
Potassium Bromide (2.5% solution) 10 cc
Water to make 1000 cc

For low contrast use undiluted and develop for about 5 minutes, for normal contrast develop for about 6.5 minutes - This is for Tray Development, increase times by 25% for tank development

This interesting book also contains the chemistry and instructions for making direct reversal prints using a sulfide toner. Might be useful for folks using paper negatives - if there is any interest I will post.

Regards

Mike
