CV Nokton f/1.4 35mm vs 40mm

I have the 40mm f/1.4 Nokton, it's a lovely lens, lives on my R3A most of the time, the speed and OoF effects (I would choose the word 'messy') are great, but uber-lazy side of me doesn't like the 40mm length on other bodies (especially if there are no 40mm lines). So, my question is... how does the 35mm Nokton f/1.4 compare? Has anyone seen a comparison of the two with wide-open samples?

Haven't seen any examples, but something to consider... You can have a little bit of one of the lens mount flange ground away (any Leica repair person can do this) so that the 35mm frame line will be used when you mount the lens. When I had a 40mm summicron I did this and found that the 35mm frame on my M6 exactly matched the film area when using a 40mm lens.
