This entire thread, originally intended to be a discussion of the different philosophies and possible constructive application of "criticism and comments", has degenerated to the point where there is nothing new posted. Those that disagree with me have become numbinlgy repetitious - as I have. Each of us have made their views abundanty clear.
A few last comments from me:
Photography - and Art - have been an immense source of pleasure and joy to me. Hopefully I will be able to share that with others. I refuse to operate in an atmosphere that is not positive: my goal is to inspire and motivate.
An observation ... when someone says, "This is not personal", I wonder why that statement must be made. Certainly, in the mind of the writer there must be some risk of having it taken that way.
My work has been described as, "Sickening", "Bad", "Hopeless", both publically and in personal e-mails. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but IF I suggest something different ... I "just don't get it", or "I am impossibly difficult to converse with. - or I am "incredibly defensive." I don't think so ... I merely disagree.
When I disagree with some of the comments, there has been an automatic assumption that "I haven't been paying attention", or "I refuse to see the other guy's point of view." In the minds of some others, disagreement is not acceptable... they know the TRUTH, and nothing else is possible. If I, or anyone else disagrees, they are being dishonest, difficult, defensive.
I don't pay attention? How else would I be able -, in my feeble, inarticualte, incoherent, way - to reply at all?
I have just received a *very* lengthy reply - sharply citical of the length of my replies. Longest message I've seen yet.
Enough, This is a "rant" ... and serves no useful pupose. I am NOT an evangelist. I do not hold any hope of changing the philosophies of others. Reciprocally, this thread has not much chance of affecting mine.
Unless I see something new and fresh, something other than repetitions of previous messages, I will not continue HERE.
