Im back again!

I have just received this machine and posted about a startup procedure. To my surprise, the pumps worked and there was water agitation! The temperature heaters also worked!

Sadly this is where the good news ends as the motor did not function. I tried adjusting the dev speed dial but still no motor function.

This is where I’m left off. A machine that is stripped down and I have no clue where to go from this point.

If anyone has done a teardown of this machine or a later model, could you point me in a direction?

Is there a fuse or breaker on the motor? Most motors have a thermal cutout that trips when too hot. Most of these reset automatically when cool.

Some basic electrical diagnostics are called for I think- is the motor getting power? Is it a controller, motor or wiring issue? Tracing the circuits will reveal a lot. Good luck, there roller transport machines are great when their working.

Yup, all of that.
@Atomic_03 Start working your way inwards. See if you can get the motor out so you can do some measurements on it. Might be shot carbon brushes, dead capacitor etc.

After tearing the whole unit apart (and doing a much needed deep clean), I found a weak connection at one of the resistors. After a quick solder, it was up and running again!

So far so good. I’ve ran more water through the system, fed paper through, and all seems to be working!

I’ve had no luck finding any documentation on this system but seeing I was able to tear it completely apart in one day and put it back together, I’d say it’s not that complicated to use.

I appreciate it! There is surprisingly little info on this system in particular so I’ll have to see or at least try to update this thread if anyone else has problems with theirs.

I have a baby Durst RCP 20 (IIRC), it was originally setup for EP-2 , I changed the pulleys, I use it several times a year for black and white, but mostly color. Very nice machines, I have never left solutions in the machine overnight. Cared for the machines work well.

I appreciate your response. I have another question you or someone might be able to answer. What’s the best way to clean the rollers after use? I emptied the tanks the rinsed them. Stored the chemicals, and did my best to clean the rollers with a rag but the next morning they had some small crystallization after which I had to clean and caused the rollers to feel a bit sticky (prior to second clean).

Should I rinse them under running water and then hand wipe and dry?

I don't know your processor in real life; like @mshchem I have an RCP20 and after a session, I drain each bath, then lift out the racks and thoroughly rinse the racks under a running faucet. They need to be tilted/rotated so that the water gets everywhere between the rollers, gears etc. It helps to turn the rollers a couple of times so that no chemistry remains trapped between pairs of rollers. I then set the rack to dry naturally; I never dry them. The racks tend to tolerate water quite well, but blix and especially developer tend to degrade them. The Durst RCP20's are notorious for long-term damage to the rollers. I don't know how the Fujimoto stand up to chemical abuse. Colenta racks AFAIK are pretty much bullet-proof.

Yeah, I'm doing the same as Koraks, I spray off the racks with plenty of warm water. Last thing I make sure to run the pump with hot water so there's no developer sitting in the pump.

I also ordered an inline valve switch for each bath from Amazon but I’ve learned my lesson to not go with the cheap ones. Out of the 5 that came in a pack, 2 of them leaked. I’m going to just return them and order a different pair that hopefully won’t leak.

Yes, sorry, I forgot that bit. with the racks removed, I fill the slots with water, run the pump for 10 seconds or so, drain and repeat once. I find at that point the water runs clear.
