COT 320...Front or Back??

Is there a sure fire way of telling the front from the back (smooth or textured might be a better description) with this material? I know this sounds goofy but on the dry sheet out of the sleeve I can see a difference some of the time and other times not. I CAN however see the difference after the final print is made as one side exhibits a marked texture while the other side shows a much smoother finish. Is this an esthetic thing or does one put image quality into jeopardy using one side over the other?

If you look REALLY close, you can tell the difference when it is fresh out of the box. The smooth side has an ever-so-slight weave that can be detected. I have to look over the tops of my glasses or use a loupe now that I have that damned 45 years-of-age farsightedness that has popped up all of a sudden and made my arms too short.

As far as print quality goes, either side will work. In fact I sometimes print on the rough side for certain images where the texture sort of adds to the image.

To add to Clay's post, unless you get an unusual pack of paper, they will all be oriented the same and the labelling should be on the top of the stack, so when you open the paper pack, keep it in correct orientation and you won't have to worry about which side is up.

Check to make sure it is correct at the first sheet, and then you won't have to be concerned about it until you start on another pack of paper.
