I guess one might have expected the cost of Jobo gear to have increased, but the cost of the Expert Drums has surpassed even my inflated estimates. On that auction site, the 8x10 drums have recently sold for over $700, and are approaching $800. Only a few years ago I thought that $350 or so was a lot for an expert drum. One might now expect to see the CPP processors similarly increase to astronomical levels, althought the high cost of the drums might finally dissuade some from considering the Jobo for processing LF negatives. For those "starting" in LF photography, tray processing is certainly the most economic way to proceed. One wonders if developing by inspection will have a renaissance, for many of us (for example, those who might need water chillers ) do not have the space or means to consider constant temperature control methods. Obviously, timers that "adjust" developing time(s) for changing temperatures are another option, especially if one desires to use developing "tubes".
One might eventually be able to sell one's Jobo CPP processor and associated expert drums for that "dream camera"...but, one still needs to develop the sheets!!!
