Any advance on your shutter repair? I was working on a Seikosha shutter with gummed-up aperture leaves and tried some electronic contact cleaner I have, called Magnum Force 2. I was astonished: two treatments and all traces of oil were gone. I mistrust these quick fixes (lighter fluid never works as a long-term fix for example) so I've left the shutter for a couple of weeks and occasionally pick it up and exercise it. It's consistently performed like new. So I tried it in a sticky escapement and it worked there too. I'm not sure what the ingredients in it might be, but it's designed as a contact and bearing cleaner for the motors used in radio-control model cars. I got it from Tower Hobbies in Chicago, but it or its equivalent might be available in the UK. It's one way of possibly improving the performance of your escapement without removing it. I would avoid using Deoxit if only because there are several formulations under the Deoxit brand name, some of which contain oil--the last thing you'd want to be squirting into your escapement.
