I got a Rondinax 35U and a bottle of Rodinal for Xmas.

How about you guys? Any other cool photo stuff in the stocking?

Congrats on the Rondinax! But be carefull, they breed just like russian rangefinders... I know a fella who got one.... another... now he has six of them in the shelf, one of each variation, still hunting for the kind with the "special manual" - showing a family in front of a tent, surrounding the father using the Rondinax on a camping table.

I own just a 1958 35U and a 60, both are cute and a charm to use.

What did I get? A cheap Hauck/Kaiser Trialux lightmeter, the promise of some camera compatible gloves, a street photo book on Paris (Gautrand: Paris Mon Amour, Taschen).

And I just ordered Les´ book as a gift to myself.

I got a tie...

Actually, my stocking contained a Wein peanut

I got 3 books
Creative Black and White Photography by Les McLean
The Photographer's Toning Book by Tim Rudman
Coming into Focus: A step by step guid to Alternativr Photographic Printing Processes edited by John Barnier  :D
Guess i was better than I thought this year!

I have the world's best girlfriend...

A Logan 40" matt cutter, and an absolutely pristine Schneider SA 90mm f/8 that looks like it's never even been mounted on a camera. It looks like my Schneider/Linhof 90mm f6.8 will be going on the block soon.

My very own "Photo Geek" vest and Ansel Adams' "Examples - The Making of 40 Photographs" book. Cool!

Aside from other books, one that stood out to me is Bernd and Hilla Becher's Basic Forms I had never heard of these photographers before, but their stuff is great. It's all industrial landscape photos, my personal favorite.

so far I have received a nice book by Elliot Porter and Ellen Auerbach entitled "Mexican Churches". It is a nice color book as Elliot was a noted color photographer. Very through and nice printing from Hong Kong.

Grant,

a fella at de.rec.fotografie once called what the Bechers shoot "forensic photography". ;-)

I didn't receive anything photo-related for Christmas this year, but I did buy my girlfriend a 5x7 camera

My family has given up on normal gifts for me as I always tell them I want something photography related. Now they give me cash  (the best gift ever). All I have to do now is decide what to get for the darkroom. I'm open to suggestions.

Bruce Barnbaum's Art of Photography and a Shen-Hao 4X5. The weather here in the "sunshine state" has been so crappy that I'll probably finish the book before I get a chance to try the new camera.

BTZS by Phil Davis, I have my work cut out for me now.

I'm planning to, but we already have the agreement that if she doesn't like using it then the camera becomes my birthday present

We should plan another get together at the Worcester Art Museum, and race the remote controlled cars across that byzantine mosiac floor!! Hell of a lot more room than my house! HEE HEE HEE!!!!!! :D

i got a cool photo delivered on xmas-day, and a day or 2 before i was paid for a job i did back in november. now we can pay for all the presents we gave to everyone else

I got a Hasselblad 501CM kit last year so its pretty hard to top this gift.
I have been *very discreetly* hinting for a new Hasselblad lens but I realised
that would be too much to ask for. So I got some money in the end, which is
not the most spirited gift but I knew my parents couldn't afford a lens or didn't
know what other photo stuff they could get.

Actually, the main photo gift I've gotten this xmas has been the chance to make portraits of all my original immediate family in their own homes. All done now but Mom....
