I have purchased a Mamiya RB67 Pro SD. It has a 6x7 back and a 645 back. I dont shoot 645. Has anybody ever converted a 645 back to 6x7? Im thinking of simply extending the window on the camera side of the back.
You can probably get enough to buy two 6x7 backs! Why not sell the 645 back and buy a 6x7 back with the money, 645 backs are not all that common I had to search for ages to find one and it was not cheap.
Also, don't forget that the gear advance on the 645 back is for more exposures than the 6x7 backs.
A rotating back camera that allows me to shoot slides I can project - I wish Mamiya had considered an RB645.Why carry that weight of a 6x7 to shoot smaller
Mamiya did make a camera platform that could rotate the whole camera on a tripod.A rotating back camera that allows me to shoot slides I can project - I wish Mamiya had considered an RB645.
And I have one for my Mamiya 645 Pro - or at least the older style one that was originally designed for the older style bodies.Mamiya did make a camera platform that could rotate the whole camera on a tripod.
The 645 Super and Pro models produced only 6x4.5, 35mm, and Polaroid. The physical dimensions of the cameras prevent larger film formats. And I have one for my Mamiya 645 Pro - or at least the older style one that was originally designed for the older style bodies.
But both versions necessitate using a tripod and a prism finder - handheld use just doesn't work with a waist level finder, unless you limit yourself to landscape orientation.
One really can't describe how satisfying it can be to use the 645 backs on the RB67 - you have to try it to appreciate it.
And of course none of the 6x4.5 cameras offer a 6x7 option by just buying another back, do they?
