I took my T2 and a Vivitar lens to Photo Tech in the city and they won't touch either. Both require fairly simple repair from what I can tell- the T2 was dropped about a foot and it caused the shutter slot to come out of alignment so when you turn it on the lens doesn't extend. The Vivitar doesn't zoom when turned, also the result of a drop.

Can anyone recommend a place either in the city or failing that in the states that can repair both? I need to get both back in the next month and a half or so max.

Thanks,
FO

There was a recent thread about repairman for T3. Try doing a search.

I don't think the lens is worth fixing.

There's a very good chance that dropping the lens broke one or two of the guides for the zoom. They're small screws with a nylon collar and are pretty fragile.

That's what I read- it occurs to me that'd be a pretty simple fix. I've seen videos on how to fix it but I'm not that sort of guy.
