Congo lenses

Hi all
Does anyone have a valid e-mail contact for Yamasaki, the makers of Congo lenses? The website

gives an address that bounces.

Fax 'em? Any chance Badger Graphic or another LF shop might know?

1. You might try Bromwell Marketing, which used to import Congo lenses to the US but not longer lists them on their website.

2. Try sending a fax to Yamasaki, although there is a risk that they will ignore faxes in English.

3. Try asking Dirk Rosler at Japan Exposures - perhaps he knows or can find out.

Yamasaki may have deliberately chosen to not use the email system. It may be a Japanese thing. Tachihara, the makers of well known view cameras even insist on their website that they won't respond to emails; it's telephone or fax only.

Maris, some years ago I bought a Prinz 210/6.3 in Copal 1. For the shutter, of course. But I couldn't help wondering who made it, suspected Yamasaki. I sent them an e-mail, they responded promptly.

Nice guess, at that time and possibly now too a bit off target.

I had a 210/6.3 Prinz (and a shorter one, maybe 135). I thought they were nice lenses with a great look. I showed them to the guys (Jeff Kay and someone else IIRC) at Lens & Repro for some reason (I think I was there inquiring about a bellows) and they started prancing around chanting "Congo, Congo, Congo". That was the first I ever heard that brand name (late 70's or early '80's). Lee Beeder also used to sell these under another name on the US west coast. I always wanted the 120 wide field.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. Will do a multiple strategy. Will approach Yamasaki via Fax and try other channels too. I am trying to sort out whether Yamasaki made the lens units for the now defunct Widelux cameras...
