I remember the last time I had Devonshire Tea. I was on a train on the South Island of New Zealand, called the "Southerner" - traveling from Christchurch to Balclutha. Many fond memories there.
It's strange how small things bring back memories. I had a customer this week who couldn't get her car started, so I said I didn't know much about them (as I just drive and break the beasties) but would give it a go. When I got outside I found she had an old Renault 5 a popular (cheap and reliable) choice for many of my friends when I was a student. It brought back many memories when I pushed the choke back in and it kicked into life. Just like back in my student days it was "flooded" from leaving the choke out too long LOL
Reminds me of a time, years ago, when I worked military satellite communications for a living - one of my work mates went to Australia to visit a site, and returned with a newspaper article full of information that was not public knowledge.

Talking about old times, reminds me of a trip to the UK several years ago. My friend, who lives in London, took me on a day trip to Dover and Rye. I would like to visit there again someday. Do you happen to have any photos of the area?
Ro, you can read a bit more about Menwith Hill here http://www.mtcp.co.uk/campaigns.php?id=6. That's an article on Mark Thomas's site. He has a regular programme on Channel 4 'The Mark Thomas Product' and is a royal, but hilarious to the viewer, pain in the a** of many 'Institutions' here, and delights in making the 'secret' no longer secret.
The 'Menwith Party' link on that page will give you some idea of his somewhat entertaining activities.

Alas never been over to Dover or Rye. I only have a small percentage of pictures of Devon and Dorset as I only recently started shooting anything other than people, nature and reportage.
Most of those could have been shot anywhere in the world but here's a little taster
Great, I enjoyed these, they make me want a return trip to the UK. It is a beautiful country, full of warm, friendly people (like Australia and New Zealand), and I can halfway speak the language .
