Ha Ha, ya bunch of pathetic losers. I’m back. You haven’t heard of voice activated software.

Where was I, oh yeah, let’s talk about those terminally annoying children’s photographers, forever boring us to death with their insipidly cute undisciplined children and those loser groupies that swoon every time one is posted on the gallery. I got news for ya babe, if you wanna know where the real money is, try taking pictures of adults bouncing up and down on the bed for a change. That’s where the paycheck is. Maybe ask Hefner, you don’t hear of people clamoring to get into the Jacobs Mansion for the weekend do ya.

And what’s all this bullshit about art. Art this and art that. "I just gotta make my art".

Shit, the closest you guys will ever get to art is if you go up and visit that obnoxious guy from Vancouver. Try that one on.

The last time I AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

My non faith-specific deity! This thread has been great. If camera clubs were like this I would be there. Much more fun than cameras and photography.

I think the balance on APUG is about perfect. Poeple so often put themselves in the position of susceptible victims and are gladly offended. Too much time is spent tip toeing around. I always thought "sticks and stones may break...." was a lesson we all learned at school. Society has become so sterile/precious of late, online rants help to blow off a little steam without fear of being reported to the authorities by the neigbours for mentioning the word "smack" or other nasties such as "I took some photos of children". We should also be aware that you (US chaps) have a big signals intelligence base in the UK which siphons up all emails in the UK and searches for key words. Thats why I always use a cleared pay as you go mobile for internet connectivity and also ensure that my monitor is more than 3 metres from the window/walls and next to the TV to make external electronic interception much harder.

I made my foil hat years ago, I'm never without it.... thats why I never use words like 'bomb' or 'anthrax'... hang on, I'll be right back, someone's at the door...

Well I guess my Emails monitored anyway with some of the people I chat with on reportage stuff. So if anyone is listening out there can you bring some decent bagels when you kick the door in please as we can't get real ones over here in the UK.

I bet it's that otter that's spying on me :D

While the picture you posted of Menwith Hill isn't real clear, naturally, those round circular objects you see in the photo are covers for satellite dishes; not any good for receiving terrestrial communications. Since most internet traffic goes through underground/underwater cables (it takes too long to go through satellites), it isn't likely they are reading to your email there - that doesn't mean they don't listen elsewhere though.

Is that the same as what they call Devonshire Tea downunder? If so, you can count me it.

It's already been publicly disclosed that they do. In fact they've been listening in on landline communications since the seventies... http://duncan.gn.apc.org/menwith.htm

Not that anyone *bomb* here really cares *anthrax* if they're listening, if it at last teaches them to make a decent cup of tea... :D

I remember the last time I had Devonshire Tea. I was on a train on the South Island of New Zealand, called the "Southerner" - traveling from Christchurch to Balclutha. Many fond memories there.

Regardless of what the article says, most Internet traffic generally goes via landlines (cables) - there is too much lag time involved (a 46,000 mile round trip takes time) in using satellite communications for this purpose.

The article says they listen to landlines.

'A judge has lambasted BT for revealing detailed information about top secret high capacity cables feeding phone and other messages to and from a Yorkshire monitoring base. BT admitted this week that they have connected three digital optical fibre cables - capable of carrying more than 100,000 telephone calls at once - to the American intelligence base at Menwith Hill, near Harrogate.'

Regardless, I would be surprised if the UK government allowed the US to purposely listen into domestic communications. FWIW, we have the same type of situation here with Area 51 - lots of theories, few facts.
