A Canadian firm is offering a liquid BW developer that is similar to, if not identical to, Gainer's PC-TEA.

So, only Phenidone and Vit-C? So, I could warm it up and stick in some Pyrogallol and call it 510-Black White & Green-Pyro 😄 On a serious note, I'll have to buy a bottle and try it out...

I use this as my main developer now but the only thing I don't like about it is the lengthy developing times for Kentmere 400, which is my main film stock, especially as I'm pushing it to 800. So I'm experimenting a little with developing at higher temperatures than 20C in order to speed up the process. I don't like powder/stock developers and because of the appeal of B/W&G from an environmental point of view, it seems to be the most suitable one-shot developer available.

It is difficult to get outside of North America, so I used a forwarding service called ShipByMail to obtain it from a Canadian seller.

EEEEEK! After shipping and taxes, it's $43! I wonder if Beau Photo carries it...

*Update: Beau Photo does carry it. Heaps cheaper. Next time I'm downtown Vancouver, I'll stop and grab some.

To be honest it's surprising that there's only one brand of commercial PC-TEA available so far. You'd think Adox or Bellini would have put out their own version ages ago.

Edit: Actually, come to think of it, Bellini do have their own "liquid Xtol" product.
