Forum newbie here. I've been wanting to try brands of films other than Kodak, Fuji and Ilford. For those who've tried or who are regularly using, what can you say about Efke, Fomapan and Arista?
Thanks.

If you can't find any existing comments about Efke, Foma, Arista, etc. by searching the archives of APUG as well as all the rest of the internet via Google, you're not trying hard enough...

Put any of these brands into the "Forum search" field just at the top of the page, and you'll find enough threads to keep you reading overnight.

Many people like these films, but quality control issues pop up occasionally.

I have heard great things about Efke. Only ever shot one roll. It was ok for me, it does curl badly though, atleast in my experience.

Me and Fomapan had a bad experience. I bought a pack of 4x5 film that was just a bit too big for standard 4x5 film holders. Then shot some in 120 that had bad production marks on it. Forte was better than Fomapan in my opinion.

To me though, you can't beat the emulsions made by Kodak, Fuji, and Ilford. If you want to save a few cents per roll of film to me it's not worth it. Stick with the big names. They have the highest quality standards, and are the most consistent from batch to batch.
