Why was this not developed years ago by large camera companies?

There HAD been offered a similar product even in different versions (up to 4MB) over several years in the last decade.

Though not by a major Company...

Perhaps the question should now be - would you buy a digipod? I may at the right price.

I would only buy a Full-Frame version. And only for use when photo film is no longer available.

If I am still alive I would pull it out of its box to keep my antique cameras going.

They will need to make one in Medium format (6x6) as well, to go inside the lovely Twin-Lens-Reflex cameras.

There are no reasonable alternatives for TLR other than film.

View cameras too. ...maybe I will wait for the 4x5 version!

not sure why i would buy this sort of thing
the sensor wouldn't not be that heavy
if it could take a 50MP image maybe, otherwise ill stick
to the 2 systems i currently use ..

It even went up to 10MB, but still not full frame.

I also doubt if ever a single device had been sold or yet even made.

That new project linked to above must be seen with that predeceding project in mind.
