Color transparency to B&W negative

I have a 4x5 color transparency, and I'd like to get a B&W negative of it. I've never done this before. Suggestions/Options from those with experience would be appreciated. Thanks.

Contact print it. Do a test strip first and then your final exposure. You can play around with contrast in the development process if you want by pushing and pulling. You want an accurate enlarger timer down to 10ths of seconds usually, as reciprocity can come into play with longer times. I've heard TMAX100 recommended.

Since the film is already nice and large, I would simply take a near-1:1 photo of it using your view camera on a backlit copy stand with a process lens. Though I do do it, contact printing will flip the image and will not be as sharp. Actually, softening an image a bit is often part of why I do it when I do. I have had the best "sharp" results by directly photographing the transparency.
