Who do you like on Flickr for color photography?
I follow "1024 zuru" and "haco-otoko" for example.

And I am going to ask you why is all this fixation on Flickr?
How about real photographers?
Would you "follow" them?

Google Joe Cornish.

I'm on Flickr and I'm a real photographer.

I would "follow" or "look" at photographers who are not on Flickr as well. Of course. I buy books I go to galleries here in Tokyo.

Don't get me wrong, I'm on Flickr as well.
It is just there's been a lot of posting about these sort of sites recently.

And the problem with that is what?
Are we only allowed to look at the APUG gallery? (requires a subscription, and very limited in scope)
Should we only look at books? (Expensive)
Should we only go to galleries? (try and find one outside the major metropolitan areas).

Flickr is huge, free, and contains a plethora of excellent photographers working in many different photographic media.
It also contains an overwhelming amount of dull, uninteresting or frankly poor photography.

It is thus an excellent place to practise one's aesthetic discrimination, and recommendations from fellow photography enthusiasts a good way to discover work of which one would otherwise be unaware.

Flickr is a bad joke, irregardless of who is on there. It used to work fine and was a fun site w/ an active community. Since the retooling and purge of user groups, it's basically unusable. I deleted my account years ago when they required me to have a yahoo email account. Yahoo is a company that I am glad to see is finally getting what it deserves from it's gross and incompetent mismanagement, all in the pursuit of a buck. Now I need to delete my eBay and Paypal accounts, two other online companies that have turned into greedy monsters w/ zero sense of what people want, along with having totally inept customer service (if any). I would love to see a graph showing loss of sales and customer dissatisfaction with these three companies.

'Don't like flickr - or anyplace else owned by yahoo or google, but I've spent some time there. Zeb Andrews' work amazes me. He's local, a skilled shooter & instructor & has amazing ability to see beauty in common surroundings & in landscapes.

I agree Zeb Andrews work is very impressive. I always enjoys seeing his photos posted.

No one is a flickr hater, and no one ever said there weren't good photographers uploading images there. That's a ridiculous idea. It's about the draconian terms of service that they instigated, the stealing of photographer's image rights, censorship, nonexistent customer service, and a user interface that is 100 times worse than it originally was back when it worked properly. Being bought by yahoo is just adding insult to injury. This is hardly recent criticism by the way....

I went to photobucket years ago, and now I don't do any online photo uploading anywhere, even here. It's about taking control of your images, and refusing to deal with large corporations with zero ethics (Not APUG). Why is this even an issue here, since flickr is an online photo website consisting of digitally uploaded images, both film and digitally derived? The only photographers I care about are those that have their actual work up in a gallery, cafe, their home or studio, etc. You know, real photographs, vs digitally uploaded files viewed on a computer monitor. That ain't no photograph.

I think the OP is simply asking us which photographers we like on flickr who do colour photography. We can list those we like or not say anything if there are none or we don't go there.

If I ask if this is the way to Amarillo I am simply looking for directions:D

Hmm actually the same applies doesn't it?
Let that remark be struck from the record

Well, I had assumed that Tony Christie's question was an example of asking for information for reasons that needed no analysis just as in ericdan's case. Tony's reason for asking the question is his business. Same goes for ericdan

In my case if I am asked for directions I give them if I can without asking why the inquirer needs to know and I am sure you do the same.
