Color durability of stretched canvas prints?

In a current thread, the long term color durability of C-41 type prints have been called into question.
Seeing that we have some members that operate professional print labs, I'd like to get some input on color durability and longevity of a stripped and canvas stretched photo that has been sprayed or laminated and wall displayed in indirect light. In short, is the color durability greatly enhanced and generally how long might the print life increase?

Quite vague, but the best I could find...


My thoughts:
You introduce several manipulations than could be of affect

-) splitting of the base
-) laminating to the canvas
-) pressing the emulsion and PE-layer into the weaving pattern
-) adding new material, the canvas (though likely seperated by the lamination layer)
-) adding a new surface by spraying or laminating

A trend was to use pro texture spray on prints, looked lovely for about 5 years , then the goop started going bad on the dye print.

Its a tough call as to how different mediums mesh with each other and the long term effect.
