Wow.. F.E. Ives no less! He was a true pioneer in color photography. He is in many ways the father of modern tri-color printing and developed high-quality, commercially successful half-tone screens for mass producing color prints. His son, H.E. Ives was involved in transmission of color images and helped developed color television as we know it today. Truly a dynasty!

Also, these images are for his Krömskop device, though in the article they call it the Krömgram.

I was being shown through the Denver's CinemaLab a few years back (maybe 4-5?) and they had in their stacks actual 16mm footage of the same earthquake and were restoring it.

I wonder if it's any of the stuff they worked on?


EDIT: After reading the article it doesn't appear to be what I was thinking it would be. Still interesting!
