Colloidal Silver Process

I heard something about turning emulsion silver into colloidal silver during processing, and it would be a one step process, as the colloidal silver would wash aways with just water.
But i didnt quite understood this, it was developed by russians, can someone explain it.

Well I suppose etch bleach fits part of that criteria as well as the wash off release processes like dye transfer.
