Collapsible Elmar 5cm F3.5 lens for Leica thread mount lens from 1937 (Ser. #359117). Mechanics proper. Overall glass aspect very clean and clear. The front element has many microscopically fine cleaning scratches, but these are not dense or deep enough to impact results (IMO). There are a few internal dust specks. The iris blades are free of oil.

This is a really nice vintage lens that should perform well and deliver somewhat vintage looking results (presumably uncoated glass). Sold as shown.

Great sharp lens, have to spend quite a bit more to get better in RF. Only draw back is they are prone to flair, worth getting a lens hood.

Yes they are amazing little lens, all versions. A hood helps for sure with backlit subject matter.

This is the lens that brought 35 mm photography and the Leica to the fore. While a relatively pricey lens in 1939, while the Zeiss counter part was superior, it’s price was beyond reach of mere mortals.
This lens and a Leica sm camera make a great pocketable kit.
