Clayton P-20 (Neutral) - Thoughts?

I've been printing in prep for a couple of art shows. I typically print with Clayton P-90, which is my work horse developer.

I gave Clayton P-20 - the neutral tone developer - a try. In my opinion, the prints looked like Xerox copies when I got done. On the other hand, the negative I was printing was very contrasty. However, I cranked up my yellow filter to about 86. (Super Omega D Dichroic II. Y = 0 to 170.)

The paper was Ilford MG FB.

Any comments or like experience? Just curious.

I use P20 like liquid Dektol. Contrast is perfect with 2 1/2 or 3 filter, condensor head, 2-3 mins. development time, Ilford MG FB and MG FB warmtone.

Thanks. I won't give up on it. I think my eye has just taken a bias toward cold tone developers.
