The Clarus was a new camera company that started up at the end of WWII (1948-52). It was intended to compete with better European cameras. The company put out only one model that had minor refinements as it evolved.
It featured:
Curtain shutter with speeds to 1/1000th Second (the shutter works).
Coupled rangefinder
Several Wollensak lenses were said to be available (scarce!!!!) in the camera's unique thread mount (Close to, but not the 39mm Leica thread.)
Judging by the accessory shoe, this is a later model. Earlier versions were prone to problems. This one appears to be working, and the lens and body are in nice condition--although it is more a collectible than a "user" camera. The rangefinder windows could stand cleaning. Nice example!
