I walked his The Gates display in NYC Central Park in 2005 which I thought was very interesting.
They had these "gates" throughout the walks in the park, thousands of them.
Here's one of the shots I took.

Christo's "The Gates" by Alan Klein, on Flickr

Nice picture, Alan. When I couldn't see all of the picture at once, so seeing the top portion only I expected it to be a warm and pleasant summer's day when in fact it isn't. My brain had constructed the wrong time of year so seeing the rest added to my entertainment rather like a magician's trick that surprises you

Sorry to be defensive. I simply wanted to share something I find inspiring.

My little city has has about 50 brewpubs and breweries, all of them "artistic." Here are two of the best (always good music at each). Great people. Sometimes wish I could drink their products regularly, but girlfriend is concerned about my gut.

They look good. If I get down that way I'll check them out. As a hophead, the Elevated IPA at Lacumcbre looks inviting. As for drinking these products, I balance the consumption with running miles to keep everything in balance.

Now, more on topic, I like that others are drawn (no pun intended) to the drawings of Christo. I like them as well. I am glad I do not have to chose between what I like best, drawing or photography, as I do both every chance I get. One advantage of drawing is that all I need is pen and paper, pretty low tech. And, related to the post about breweries, I did, or am doing, a series of sketches/drawings of guys wearing baseball hats in breweries, sketched on the scene:

Vince...great sketches !

Albuquerque's brewing crowd seems a lot like the graphic/photographer/multimedia/film crowd I remember from San Francisco's pre-digital prime. Casual, laughing, dedicated, entrepreneurial (sp?). Few in ABQ seem to watch sports over brewskies . I fear fully legal marijuana biz will suck the money out of everything else, like internet real estate craze did to San Francisco.
