Under where?

That is not even close, it is off.

For some time efforts are made in the EU to regulate a labelling of the kind of "Made in Germany". So far in vain.
There are regulations as on some foodstuff, but that is not our topic.

It was a joke son, I was pulling your leg. Labels for under garments by individual EU country. :D:laugh:. Wink, wink, say no more.
Ha.

Patents get renewed and re-tweaked. I don't know what specifically applies in this instance. What I do know is that the Chinese routinely violate patents.

Patents are not renewable, at least not in the US. Sometimes one can get additional patents on certain aspects of a product line that can sort of extend the useful life of a patent in some sense, but it is not actually an extension of the term of the original patent. This sort of thing happens a lot in the pharmaceutical sector.

Then please name these regulations.

There are none.
You have to go to court in each case if you feel betrayed.

Actually, there are rather tough regulations with regards to EXPORT, CUSTOMS and CERTIFICATES OF ORIGIN. If these COO do not coincide with the marking on the product or a false and this fact comes up, customs authorities will be delighted to fine you heavily.

But you are right, there is margin for interpretation - but a reel is not assembled of to many parts, so the origin should be rather clear.

If you know any German regulations referring to a consumer orientated mark at the package or product in the style of "Made in...", please tell me.

Ultimately, you can't blame the Chinese for counterfeiting, they too have families to feed.

Yes, I do. They could just as well get honest jobs. By your logic, if I need money for my family I would have the right to go into a bank and shoot the teller and the guard in the head. Is that the Canadian way?

Jobo do not seem to be bothered, otherwise they would have blocked this offer.

Seriously??? This is your answer. The end justifies the means?
So if I buy a Canada Gold Maple Leaf coin and find out it's a Chinese, Tungsten, Gold plated copy, that's OK? Because Canada mints 24K pure Gold coins the mint has started putting micro engraved privy marks that can be read by a computer to confirm it's genuine. These crooks have mouths to feed as well. "If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won't be honest with greater responsibilities."
Peace Mike

If I was Chinese and if the well being of my family was depending on bootlegging, I would do it without and once of remorse. Oh and by the way, this last quote is overly simplistic, it's like saying "There's no shades of grey, only black and white".

This isn't about China. And it's not usually a poor person trying to feed his family. This is nothing, probably a kid. But when giant state or private concerns counterfeit parts foe planes, trains and prescription medications it's real.
And it would be gray if the guy just said, "Hey I made these"
But yes and no are binary. Yes it's Jobo, No it's not Jobo. About as black and white as it gets.
And I emailed Catlabs, they have objected to this with ebay but it just keeps happening.
This us a difference of opinions.
Best wishes ,Mike

It is not just the Chinese.

My wife had bought some Parmesan to accompany our dinner and we found out two things:

1.) It was "Wisconsin Parmesan", whatever that is ...
2.) The Wisconsin copy is not nearly as good as the original.

So, next time we will make sure we get the original!

OK, I will remember your ethics when I see that you are selling on APUG. No, thanks.

With all due respect, we are not acquaintances and you don't know me or my ethics. I don't encourage counterfeiting, I don't buy counterfeits, In fact I try to buy as much "Made in Canada" products as I can and I'm not a fan of "Made in China" products (Except for tea). I will repeat myself, IF I was a Chinese individual and IF the "Well Being" of my family was depending on the income that I bring home by working in a counterfeiting workshop, I would go work to that workshop every single day.

Oh My. Certainly not. In the US what most people call bread is unfit to eat. Right now we are getting great European cheeses here. Very reasonable prices. But if you go to the big stores here "Swiss cheese " is just bland white cheese with holes  again not very good.
I just got back from London, all I wanted to do for lunch was to go to a shoppe and buy real cheese and bread.
Stay away from the Wisconsin "Gouda " too . There's a mail order outfit here called "Swiss Colony" it's god awful pasteurized cheese made in you guessed it, Monroe, Wisconsin.

The original always taste better, that's why I stick with Hellmann mayonnaise and don't buy the no name hahah

The Wisconsin camembert is not great neither... but we are far away from the topic!

Here's a listing for the famous little Red reel clips for Jobo. Listed as Jobo brand. Are They genuine??

Of course they are not genuine, it says "for Jobo", not Made by Jobo.

Why you buy parts for your car, do you always go to the dealer? Even for oil changes? Do you always make sure that every parts is genuine (insert brand of your car here)? Do you protest people who shop at Napa, O'Riley's, AutoValue or the like, since none of those places sell genuine parts, but aftermarket parts that fit cars made by others. Do you intend to sue Fram for making oil filters that fit Fords, but are not made by Ford (Not that the FoMoCo brand filters are made by Ford, but that's another matter)? The Frams are just as counterfeit "Ford" products as these little clips are counterfit Jobo products.

That was my first my first impression too. Only after long search at that offer (I do not use Ebay and thus do not know where to look) I found that statement "Brand: Jobo".

To my impression quite hidden, but still there. One could argue the seller meant that as "being intended for". Nevertheless I see that in its impact as counterfeit indeed, if it is not original.

The same seller in a different offer of a Jobo look-a-like used "Brand: unknown/generic"
But then used a numeral designation that makes it look like a Jobo part.

For the rest I can only repeat that Jobo does not hold any rights on that stuff, except for their brand, and even that may be limited.
A weird thing with Jobo is that their US-importer is more active than they, as if they had transferred that business of them to him.

Oil filter thing is interesting. I drive a Subaru Crosstrek. I order filters 6 at a time from a Subaru dealer. I still like to change my own oil, why I don't know. The Chevy Camaro the "All American Muscle Car" is assembled in Canada with a engine made in Ramos Arizpe , MX. and a transmission made in China all in GM plants. Fram isn't a counterfeit it's a Fram made by Honeywell. I would imagine Ford sources oil filters from a supplier who makes them to a Ford spec.
Best Mike

Update, I ordered a set of the black panels for my genuine Jobo 2509n reel. They seem to fit perfectly.
Best Mike
