Changing E-6 developer can the Stop Loss Bags be cleaned or should they be replaced?

Now the question we have been using Arista E-6 developer in three of these bags, but want to try a new developer.. Cinestill E-6 creative slide kit, which is also a three bath kit. But because the type of bag it is, the only way to clean it would be to flush it out. Is this a good idea, or will the any residue bath left in each one, effect the new type of developer and hinder its process?

I would rinse it multiple times with tap water and allow to dry out before using for a different chemical of any type, not just developers.

As they got no tap, how do you handle them (literally) in case of critical metering of volume is needed, without making a mess?

Understand, that the main use for them is to keep air out of its content of the developer when they are being stored.

We have just starting using them, and have not had to use them in a critical metering amount that you are referring to.

The manner we have used them so far, is after the contents have been heated up to the temp required, while still in the bag, we take the cap off, ... grip the bag, from its front edge and rear bottom side, and just pour the developer into our daylight developing tanks directly as needed.

But if we needed a precise volume amount we could pour the contents into our film measuring cup, to the quantity needed and heat that in the normal way, and proceed with the developing. .

Use a graduated measurement cylinder.

Two, or three rinse cycles should be sufficient. What's possibly left will be miniscule.

That being said, if it's nagging on you, then you'll want to fill it with water after the rinse cycles, squeeze out the air and close it. Then wait for an hour, or a day, up to you, empty and rinse. That way anything mobile enough to diffuse into the plastic will diffuse out, again.

Gotch ya, yes it is different. But you pour slowly so it doesn.t empty fast, as you can see the liquid moving within the bag while holding from the edges, .. of what is top and bottom of the bag, when its was sitting on the table.

Have had no spills yet.

Since the mouth is smaller, I have found that it is much easier for me to control the pouring. It comes with a special fitted funnel so filling is not difficult.
