I just noticed that the data sheet in the latest 1 litre E6 Bellini 6/7 bath kit (purchased earlier this year) says "processes on average 9 films of 36 exp", whereas in the ones I purchased for several years before, the data sheet gave a capacity of 12 films. I'm assuming that this is not a change of the chemistry, but of the data sheet.

I'm not familiar with other 6/7 bath kits ... the original E6 process ... but perhaps someone might let us know what their recommended capacity is?

I've never used any of the kits to their full stated capacity anyway. Typically I process about 2/3 of recommended capacity. For example, this past few days I processed 6 films in the 1 litre Bellini kit (and am very pleased with the results!).

The 8 film capacity is more realistic, if you want good results. It means using the chemistry one shot in JOBO rotary processing, or reusing once for tank processing in JOBO tanks. Reusing E6 for third time results in slides that are not up to my understanding of what a slide should look like. I do not recommend processing more than 8 rolls of film per liter of unreplenished E6 standard chemistry.

The product (Bellini kit) is the same it has always been. The old 12 film capacity was unrealistic for good results.

😀👍
As you can see, producers who take the issue of quality and repeatability of developing results more seriously - are starting to provide reliable data on the capacity of their chemicals, and are not taking part in the marketing race.
