i have heard about Philips cameras but never saw one in real i have to admit... i guess that design is employed in some other cameras design principles (like canham maybe?!) ... anyway, at least from pics, those chamonix cameras look far from being cheap in any way ...
i have more questions ...
those knobs : they are geared movements or typical loose/tighten knobs and then moving by hand ?
the movements and the operation of the camera : how it is compared to say ebony camera smoothness/quality if u r familiar (is one of my main concidiration in my vision of LF/ULF camera)...
ya i would like to make this move any time soon ... still not decided about the format ... 5x7 is ok, and so is 8x10 .. but just some time ago i descovered the possibility of the old wholeplate option that is offered by ebony and i see chamonix too now ... in short, im a bit unclear at the moment as to what in particularly fits my needs and desires from those LF/ULF ... some reducing backs are possible maybe, how to get materials etc etc .. many things to sort out ... hope soon ...
